So I hope that you will consider helping me achieve my goal and raising as much as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society. The minimum fundraising target for this challenge is £8500 and it is my ambition to treble it. To this end I am looking to raise a lot more than my previous challenge and I am hoping to obtain sponsorship/donations by as many various means possible. A challenge to push yourself to the limit and I am confident of completing the challenge and raising much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, in loving memory of my dad. It is my intention to complete this challenge next year and need to get myself registered and booked as soon as possible, due to places being limited. A unique, action packed and fast-paced challenge taking you to the greatest summits in Africa. First comes Mt Meru at 4566m AMSL, then Mt Kilimanjaro at 5895m AMSL and finally Mt Kenya at 5199m AMSL.

12 days of trekking and climbing a total 15,660 metres.

It is over a year since the passing of my dad and I want to and have decided to do another challenge in memory of my loving and wonderful dad, who was taken from us before his time. Doing Kilimanjaro again didn’t seem a hard enough challenge this time and so after a long search, I came across the African 3 Peaks climb. Though this was expected, it still came as a shock, watching how he suffered right to very end. Sadly, Christmas Eve 2017, my dad passed away. Unfortunately my dad’s condition deteriorated rapidly, with Parkinson’s a side effect of Alzheimer’s taking a hold. I decided to do something about this horrible disease, although it was too late for my dad, so in January 2015, I summited Mt Kilimanjaro and raised just over £10,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society to aid in the research for a cure. Hello everyone & welcome to this, my charity challenge money pot! In December 2013, my dad was diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer’s. Richie’s African 3 Peaks Challenge for the Alzheimer’s Society! As a small and nimble organization, we are not limited by bureaucracy or massive overhead. This allows us to concentrate our efforts where we excel: organizing the available resources in a hands-on, creative way to produce tangible results quickly and effectively. This approach ensures that we can focus on what is needed on the ground and in the now to fill the gaps in aid left by big organizational structures and complex international policy. Our approach is to assist existing humanitarian aid structures and local associations and to supplement them when their opportunities to act are limited or restraint. Our aim is not to direct or to implement. We are there to help. Please visit us at: L'HEURE VIDE humanitaire L’HEURE VIDE humanitaire is a small network-based NGO focused on short-term projects in emergency situations involving refugee issues worldwide. We started this NGO, and have been working together succesfully with local and international organizations to give them the help they need. There we saw so many Venezuelan refugees in such great misery without the help they needed, that we decided to stay. While travelling through South America by car we crossed the border of Ecuador and Colombia in Rumichaca. L'HEURE VIDE HUMANITAIRE - Venezuelan refugees
